The following itinerary is just an example to illustrate how your cruise might look like. As with all private charters on Adelaar, everything can be fully customized, including length of the trip and places visited. ----- Day 1 – Sorong (Check dive) After the airport or hotel pick-up and transfer to Adelaar, you are welcomed aboard with a refreshing drink and a full briefing. The first day is dedicated to settling in, meeting the crew, and enjoying the first moments on board as we sail toward Raja Ampat. Depending on boarding time, we may already do a check dive, typically on a calm and protected reef in the Sorong area. Non-divers: Enjoy your first afternoon at sea—relax on deck, take in the scenery, and ease into the rhythm of the voyage. ----- Day 2 – Misool | Daram (3 day dives, 1 night dive) Daram, one of the many miniature archipelagos in southern Misool, offers outstanding sites such as Warna Berwarna, Andiamo, and Candy Store. Coral-studded limestone formations are bathed in fish life—schools of barracudas, Spanish mackerels, batfish and trevallies are common. Daram’s sea fan forests are also home to Raja Ampat’s endemic ‘Santa Claus’ pygmy seahorse. The night dive, often conducted at sites like Romeo, the Impossible Lover, reveals crustaceans, nudibranchs, hunting moray eels, blacktip reef sharks, and possibly the elusive walking shark. Non-divers: Snorkel at Warna Berwarna or enjoy a scenic dinghy cruise through Daram’s limestone coastline and lagoons. ----- Day 3 – Misool – Pele (4 day dives) The ridges, overhangs, and swim-throughs around Pele’s islets are some of the best places to swim in clouds of baitfish and silversides. These attract predators such as trevallies, tuna, reef sharks, and mobula rays. Pele is also home to some of the largest groupers. Depending on conditions and permissions, dives across this Misool sector may include iconic sites such as Nudi Rock, Tank Rock, Whale Rock, Gorgonian Passage, Boo Windows, Magic Mountain, Four Kings, and Wedding Cake. Non-diving highlights: Relax in secluded anchorages, explore hidden beaches, or enjoy paddleboarding and kayaking along Misool’s dramatic limestone formations. ----- Day 4 – Misool – Wagmab (3 day dives) The reefs around Wagmab are a kaleidoscope of soft and black corals, hiding an impressive array of macro life—nudibranchs, frogfish, boxer crabs, and blue-ringed octopus. Night dives here offer one of the best chances to encounter Raja Ampat’s endemic walking shark. In the wider Misool region, dives may also connect with sites such as Boo Windows, Gorgonian Passage, Four Kings, Wedding Cake, Nudi Rock, Tank Rock, and Whale Rock. Exploration: Discover lagoon and cavern systems by speedboat, or visit a marine lake with stingless jellyfish for a truly unique experience. ----- Day 5 – Piaynemo (3 day dives, 1 night dive) Diving in Piaynemo includes world-class sites such as Melissa’s Garden, famous for its expansive hard coral formations. Nearby sites like Keruo Channel and Batu Rufus offer dynamic conditions with large schools of fish and frequent pelagic encounters. Lagoon tour & viewpoint: In the late afternoon, enjoy a lagoon exploration followed by a short walk to Piaynemo’s iconic viewpoint—one of Raja Ampat’s most breathtaking panoramas. Sunset drinks can be arranged at the top. ----- Day 6 – Dampier Strait (3 day dives, 1 night dive) The Dampier Strait is the heart of Raja Ampat’s biodiversity. Dive sites such as Cape Kri, Sardine Reef, Blue Magic, Manta Sandy, Arborek Jetty, Sawandarek Jetty, and Yenbuba offer dense fish life, turtles, reef sharks, and wobbegongs. Manta encounters are frequent, and whales are occasionally sighted. Before the night dive, there is a chance to visit one of the region’s friendly villages. Non-divers: Snorkeling from jetties like Arborek or Sawandarek is exceptional, with the possibility of observing mantas at cleaning stations. ----- Day 7 – Yanggefo (2 day dives) The mangrove-fringed channels of Yanggefo hide spectacular sites such as Citrus Ridge, Mayhem, and Gam Ridge. These reefs are dominated by vibrant soft corals and abundant fish life, with both pelagic action and rare macro species such as Pontohi, Denise, and Bargibanti pygmy seahorses. After the last dive, and depending on weather conditions, Adelaar may hoist her sails and cruise through central Raja Ampat. Non-divers: Kayak or paddleboard through mangrove channels, or snorkel in shallow reefs among some of the healthiest ecosystems in Raja Ampat. ----- Day 8 – Sorong After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye. Disembarkation and assistance to check-in at the airport – until the next time. (Itinerary might vary depending on weather and sea conditions)
