Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located approximately 300 nautical miles east of Bali in the Flores Sea, is renowned for its breathtaking beauty—both above and below the surface. Comprising the three main islands of Komodo, Rinca, and Padar, this region boasts a striking landscape shaped by ancient volcanic activity: rugged savannah hills, pockets of tropical forest, powdery white and reddish beaches, and turquoise lagoons alive with marine life. Beneath the waves, Komodo’s underwater topography is as diverse as its legendary biodiversity. Dive sites range from black volcanic sands and silty slopes to steep coral walls and vibrant reef flats, all blanketed with an incredible array of hard and soft corals. As you journey from the warm, clear waters of the Flores Sea in the north toward the cooler, nutrient-rich currents of the Indian Ocean in the south, the marine life becomes even more abundant. Here, divers can encounter everything from elusive macro critters to majestic pelagics. The sheer variety of ecosystems and species in Komodo is not only visually stunning but also ecologically extraordinary—making it one of the most inspiring and unforgettable dive destinations on Earth.
"Current City"
The real Komodo diving starts here where, like the name suggests, the currents play a big role in this part of the cruise. When you are in the water at the right place and time, the reefs spring to life! Fish are abundant everywhere but the rocks and reefs in 'current' areas provide the best chances for spotting the bigger fish, especially sharks and other pelagics.
Gili Lawa Laut
Here comes the savannah like scenery of Komodo, surrounded by many shades of turquoise blue water, white sandy beaches and rough rock surfaces.
