This exceptional sea voyage covers more than 500 nautical miles through one of Indonesia’s most untouched regions: Tomini Bay and the Togian Archipelago, home to over 450 scattered islands. Remote, wild, and rarely visited, Tomini Bay offers a unique blend of pristine nature and living maritime culture. Much of the bay is inhabited by the Bajau people, also known as Sea Nomads. Living in villages built on stilts directly above the water, the Bajau have an extraordinary relationship with the ocean and are renowned for their remarkable free-diving abilities. Encounters with these welcoming communities are a meaningful part of this journey. Our journey begins with several days exploring remote atolls far off the beaten path, before continuing into the heart of the Togian National Park—a region of outstanding natural beauty. Expect forest-covered islands, deserted islets, white-sand beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and breathtaking seascapes above and below the surface. Welcome aboard an authentic Indonesian adventure.

We propose the following itinerary, which reflects our ‘slow travel’ philosophy. Please note that while this itinerary is highly recommended, it remains subject to sea and weather conditions. Highlights: • Warm and genuine encounters with Bajau Sea Nomad communities. • A constantly changing landscape of islands, reefs, and secluded bays. • World-class snorkeling with healthy coral reefs and abundant marine life. • Emerald lagoons, pristine beaches, and unforgettable underwater scenery. • Encounter the giant sea mammals, whale shark.

Your adventure begins upon arrival at Gorontalo Airport, where our team will transfer you to the harbor to board the vessel, your home for the next 11 days. As we sail toward our first destination, your Cruise Director will introduce the vessel, crew, and essential safety procedures. With a bit of luck, the day may bring one of Indonesia’s most remarkable marine encounters: observing whale sharks in their natural environment. After lunch, we anchor in a secluded bay for a relaxing snorkeling session in warm, clear waters before sailing overnight to our next destination.

For the next three days, we sail west into one of Tomini Bay’s least visited areas, a maze of coral atolls, small islets, and pristine beaches. With no fixed schedule, we let the sea and weather guide our route, stopping wherever nature invites us. Expect daily snorkeling in clear waters, beach walks on deserted shores, and time to swim or simply relax. One afternoon, we will select a beautiful beach for a private barbecue, where the crew prepares a fresh dinner by the sea. These days are about freedom, exploration, and discovering places few travelers ever reach.

Una Una Island is a majestic volcanic island surrounded by lush green hills descending into the sea. For adventurous guests, an early-morning trek follows the riverbanks toward the volcano. After the hike, we enjoy a swim and snorkel over the coral reefs around the island while Bajau sails toward the Togean Islands. In the afternoon, we visit a jellyfish lake where guests can swim among harmless jellyfish before relaxing on a nearby beach at sunset.

We wake up anchored beside a traditional Bajau village, where stilt houses stretch across the bay and create a striking seascape shaped by life at sea. After breakfast, we dive straight in for a snorkeling session, exploring a jellyfish lake then enjoying a nice beach after. Over lunch, we sail to Taupan Island, a hidden lagoon offering calm waters, colorful reefs, and a glimpse of village life untouched by time. The afternoon is spent snorkeling, swimming, and soaking in the raw beauty of the Togian Islands.

The village of Kabalutan lies inside a calm lagoon, protected by small islets that shelter it from ocean waves. It is the largest Bajau village in the Togean Archipelago. This peaceful setting is ideal for kayaking and Zodiac rides to visit nearby small villages. Here, we learn about the Bajau sea nomads, their traditional way of life, and listen to their stories, deeply connected to the sea.

Located in the eastern part of the Togean Islands, Malenge is one of the most unique villages in the region. Set on a small island, it offers a romantic seascape surrounded by clear waters. A one-kilometer wooden bridge connects the village to the main island and is used each morning by children on their way to school. They often join us for a swim, creating a truly warm and memorable moment. Nearby coral reefs offer excellent snorkeling, making this day especially unforgettable.

As we leave the coast behind, the landscape slowly transforms. The horizon opens, the water becomes lighter, and a scattering of coral atolls and tiny islets begins to appear, marking our entrance into one of the least explored regions of The Togean Archipelago. We navigate through a natural labyrinth of palm-fringed islets, shallow lagoons, and pristine beaches, Beneath the surface, vibrant coral reefs await, offering excellent snorkeling waiting to be discovered. Another day in paradise.

This morning, we arrive at Tampotika, a Marine Protected Area supported by our foundation. We meet the local team, who guide us through the site and explain their conservation work. We then hike through the nearby village and surrounding landscape, walking through clove plantations and local paths. In the afternoon, there is time to snorkel on some of the area’s best coral reefs. In the evening, we raised the anchor for our final crossing to the town of Luwuk.

Wake up in the morning, you are at Luwuk harbor. After enjoy our final breakfast on board, we bid farewell to the captain and crew before transferring you to the airport for your onward flight to Bali or another destination. We will miss you and hope to welcome you again in the future.
