This 11-day expedition sails from Ternate to Bitung, combining the diverse reefs of Halmahera with the macro-rich waters of Lembeh Strait, with up to 32 dives planned. After embarkation and a check dive around Ternate, the journey moves through a chain of remote islands rarely visited by liveaboards. Diving around Tidore, Saleh, Kusu, Proco, Bacan, Kasiruta, Goraichi, and Tifore delivers a wide range of underwater landscapes, from coral gardens and ridges to pinnacles and seamounts. Expect clear water, healthy reefs, strong fish action, schooling pelagics, and relaxed exploration, with highlights including a beach BBQ in a quiet bay. The final days are spent in Lembeh Strait, world-famous for its muck diving and exceptional macro life. Black-sand slopes, rare critters, and photography-focused dives provide a perfect contrast before the trip concludes in Bitung.

We meet you at the airport or your hotel and transfer to the harbour. Once onboard, you settle into your cabin, set up your dive gear and join the welcome briefing. After settling in, we do the check dive in the protected reefs around the island to get comfortable with equipment and procedures. Example dive sites: Nukila.

Today we explore the reefs around Tidore, known for healthy coral gardens, gentle slopes and calm conditions. It’s a great area to ease into the trip while enjoying colourful hard corals and plentiful reef fish. Example dive sites: Am Point 1, Am Point 2, Maitara North.

We spend the day around the islands of Saleh, diving a mix of rocky outcrops, coral slopes and ridges with excellent visibility. This area offers varied topography and plenty of schooling fish. Example dive sites: Batu Mangga, Tanjung Tower, Batu Jabu.

Kusu’s reefs offer beautiful ridges, small pinnacles and rich coral formations. Conditions are usually calm, making it ideal for relaxed diving and photography. Example dive sites: Kusu Ridge, Pulau Sabatang, Tanjung Neraka.

We move to the Proco area, where you can expect clear water, sandy slopes and colourful coral gardens. It’s a pleasant zone for wide-angle and relaxed exploration. Example dive sites: Proco Pasir Putih, Proco Garden, Oci Point.

Diving around Bacan and Kasiruta brings dramatic topography, large boulders and rich marine life. The afternoon often features relaxed dives with great chances to find critters among the rocks. After the dives, we enjoy a relaxed beach BBQ in a quiet bay, the perfect way to end the day. Example dive sites: Split Rock, Batu Gorango, Tanjung Dahabira.

Goraichi is known for stunning seamounts, steep walls and strong fish action. Expect excellent visibility and healthy reefs, along with big schools and occasional pelagic encounters. Example dive sites: Rinas Rock, Siko Pinnacle, Tanjung Siko, Siko Utara

Tifore is all about current-fed ridges and schooling fish. It’s an exciting day with the possibility of seeing large schools of fusiliers, trevallies and barracuda around the island. Example dive sites: Tifore Reef, Tifore Ridge, Tifore Corner.

We arrive in Lembeh Strait for world-class muck diving. Black-sand slopes, unique critters and endless macro subjects make this a favourite spot for photographers. Example dive sites: Angel Window, TK1, Retak Leri, Air Prang.

Two relaxed morning dives in the heart of Lembeh, focusing on macro life and critters unique to the strait. After the dives, the afternoon is free for rest, photo editing or exploring around the bay. Example dive sites: Rojos, Makawide.

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful Wellenreng and her crew. We’ll arrange your transfer to the airport or your hotel in Bitung or Manado.
