The Raja Ampat archipelago consists of some 600 Islands and islets that straddle the equator in the area off the “Birds Head”. The name Raja Ampat literally means ‘the Four Kings’ and dates back to the time that the islands were ruled from the North Moluccan sultanates of Ternate. At that time the four larger islands in Waigeo, Salawati, Batanta and Misool used to have an independent king. Most of the islands have rugged and steep coastlines and are covered with virgin rainforest. The larger islands are lightly populated, but most others are still uninhabited by humans. Raja Ampat is also famous as for his underwater world: marine biologists have concluded that this area is home to seventy percent of the known coral species on the planet. Many fish, corals and crustaceans that live in these waters are found nowhere else on earth. Welcome aboard for a real voyage of a lifetime.

Wake up deep in Raja Ampat. Today we explore Yilliet Island, where jungle meets turquoise seas. Snorkel vibrant reefs, relax on empty beaches, and soak in the feeling of being far from civilization.

At sunrise, we navigate toward the remote islets of Pelee. The day is filled with exploration: snorkeling healthy reefs, kayaking through narrow limestone corridors, and discovering quiet lagoons and beaches hidden between jagged rock formations.

We wake among sculpted karst islands shaped by tides and time. Today’s adventure includes snorkeling vibrant reefs, swim in jellyfish lake, kayak into secluded inlets, and hike up to an insane viewpoint overlooking a maze of lagoons and turquoise water. Camera required.

Arriving at Kofiau Island we will jump back in the water at two excellent snorkeling sites. During lunch. During lunch, we cruise north to visit small fishing communities rarely visited by outsiders and experience local island life.

One of the trip’s highlights. A hike to the Pianemo viewpoint rewards you with one of Raja Ampat’s most famous panoramas. Later, snorkel pristine reefs before anchoring near the tropical island of Pele for a beach barbecue at sunset.

Before sunrise, adventurous guests can join a guided jungle trek to spot the extraordinary Wilson’s Bird of Paradise. Then during breakfast, we cruise to Arborek, where manta rays often glide through shallow cleaning stations. The afternoon is dedicated to unforgettable snorkeling at Yangeffo.

Our final day brings us to Sauwandarek and Yenbuba villages, known for rich fish life and colorful coral gardens beneath the jetties and nearby reefs. After snorkeling, we enjoy a village walk, then dinner on board as we share stories and begin our overnight cruise back to Sorong.

Back in the harbor of Sorong on the mainland, we’ll enjoy breakfast before saying farewell to the captain and crew. Afterward, we will arrange your transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
