North Male Atoll Lankan Manta Point Level: Easy • Depth: 20 m • Photo: Wide Angle Lankan Manta Point is one of the best-known manta sites in North Malé Atoll, thanks to its cleaning stations set along a shallow reef slope. Divers position themselves at a respectful distance to watch the mantas come in to be cleaned, often surrounded by lively reef fish activity, moray eels, Napoleon wrasse and, at times, a few whitetip reef sharks. Hulhumale Shark Point Level: Easy • Depth: 20 m • Photo: Wide Angle Just off the artificial island of Hulhumalé, this dive is done settled on the bottom while waiting for large predators to pass by. Stingrays, spinner sharks, bull sharks, tiger sharks, lemon sharks and hammerheads may be seen here, along with moray eels, in a dive that is both easy, spectacular and full of excitement.
Hanifaru Bay Level: Good swimmers • Photo : Wide angle Hanifaru Bay is an iconic snorkeling site, located in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, famous for its spectacular feeding aggregations of manta rays. In this protected bay, you can enjoy a unique close-up experience with the mantas and, depending on conditions, also have the chance to observe whale sharks in an exceptional ballet of plankton feeders. Dharavandhoo House Reef Level: Easy • Depth: 20-30 m • Photo: Macro / 35 mm Dharavandhoo House Reef is a very pleasant outer reef, well known for manta sightings during the season and for the occasional chance of encountering a whale shark. Rich in fish life and underwater relief, this dive offers a lively and varied experience, perfectly combining beautiful reef scenery with megafauna encounters. Dhonfanu Thila Level: Easy • Depth: 20-30 m • Photo: Macro / 35 mm Dhonfanu Thila is a very popular thila in Baa Atoll, with a shallow top, beautiful overhangs and a topography that concentrates marine life. Grey reef sharks, eagle rays and abundant reef life are regularly seen here and, in season, passing manta rays make the site even more rewarding. Kiyadu Ridge Level: Easy • Depth: 20-30 m • Photo: Macro / 35 mm Kiyadu Ridge is an interesting night dive site, appreciated for its relief, overhangs and the activity that comes alive after sunset. The dive takes on a very special atmosphere, with active reef life, fully opened corals and always the possibility of encounters in the torch beams. The site configuration often allows for long, peaceful observations, enhanced by lively reef fish activity around the station. Madivaru Kandu Level: Easy • Depth: 20-30 m • Photo: Macro / 35 mm Madivaru Kandu is one of Rasdhoo’s flagship dive sites, famous for its current, schools of fish and pelagic encounters. Eagle rays, Napoleon wrasse, whitetip reef sharks, grey reef sharks and large schools of trevally are regularly seen here, in a dynamic and often spectacular dive.
Fesdu Lagoon Level: Easy • Depth: 20 m • Photo: Macro / 35 mm Fesdu Lagoon is famous for its night dives with manta rays, in a magical atmosphere that ranks among the Maldives’ great underwater experiences. The calm, open lagoon allows divers to watch the rays moving through the light beams, for a moment that is peaceful, fascinating and unforgettable. Ohola Thila Level: Easy • Depth: 20-30 m • Photo: Macro / 35 mm Ohola Thila is a superb colourful thila, known for its soft corals and very aesthetic atmosphere. Its relief, overhangs and dense reef life make it a very enjoyable dive, ideal for those who appreciate both the richness of the scenery and the activity of the reef. Fish Head Level: Medium • Depth: 20-30 m • Photo: Macro / 35 mm Fish Head is one of the most famous thilas in North Ari, renowned for its high concentration of sharks and constant action. Numerous grey reef sharks, eagle rays, Napoleon wrasse and large schools of fish are often seen here, on a protected site that has become a benchmark for divers looking for action.
