Day 1: Embarkation from 4:00pm, Vessel departs from Walindi Plantation Resort at approx 6:00pm Days 2-7: 4 dives per day, typically scheduled as follows: - Light Breakfast, briefing, Dive 1 - Full Breakfast, relax/interval, briefing, Dive 2 - Morning Tea, relax/interval, Lunch, briefing, Dive 3 - Afternoon snack, relax/interval, briefing, Dive 4 (may be a dusk dive) - Dinner Day 8: 2 morning dives only, lunch, vessel steams to port Day 9: Disembarkation up until 9:00am (to suit outward flights where applicable) Witu Islands Itinerary includes diving on the Witu group of Islands to the northwest of Kimbe Bay with some diving within Kimbe Bay on the last day. Dive sites visited are at the discretion of the Captain and are weather dependent. This liveaboard journey explores the remote Witu Islands northwest of Kimbe Bay before finishing with classic reef diving in Kimbe Bay. The volcanic Witu Islands are known for their isolation, pristine reefs, and diverse diving. Seamounts and shoals such as Lama Shoals rise from deep water to just below the surface, attracting barracuda, trevally, tuna, and reef sharks. Massive coral bommies, arches, and swim-throughs are covered in soft corals and surrounded by reef fish, while volcanic black sand bays offer rewarding macro diving, including the unique opportunity to dive within the caldera of an extinct volcano on Garove Island. Islanders in traditional canoes visit to sell fresh local produce. Kimbe Bay is renowned for its biodiversity and varied underwater landscapes. Coral gardens, coral-covered walls, offshore seamounts, and white sand cays such as Restorff Island support dense schools of reef fish, abundant invertebrate life, and excellent photographic opportunities. Together, the Witu Islands and Kimbe Bay offer an exceptional smorgasbord of diving, with each site providing distinctly different experiences.
