Dive sites visited are at the discretion of the Captain and are weather dependent. South Coast New Britain: rich and varied sites such as Mocklon Island and others near Jacquinot and Waterfall Bays. This trip brings guests to the famous Blue Hole for freshwater springs and drift diving through pristine PNG rainforests (weather permitting). Further west along the southern coastline sites may include spectacular Mia Island, Thomass’ and Elsa’s reef which all feature beautiful hard, soft and whip corals, abundant sea anemones, great fish life and varied small critters such as nudibranchs and may include a dive on a biplane wreck. Star Reefs area: (crossing from New Britain to mainland PNG) This spectacular remote location includes diving on iconic tropical sandy cay fringing reefs with extensive visibility and animal life. The SS Chittenden is a rare, largely intact World War II Liberty ship that has transformed into a thriving artificial reef now covered in corals, and attracts everything from reef fish to larger pelagics. Other exploratory dives may occur in this area as well. Milne Bay Provence: amazing diving combines big, exciting encounters, such as manta rays and sharks, with some of the best muck diving in the world, packed with rare and unusual critters. What really sets it apart is the variety: in one trip you can explore vibrant coral reefs, sandy critter-rich sites, and dramatic wall dives—so every dive feels completely different. Weather permitting, you may get to dive “Black Jack”, the most intact B-17 Flying Fortress wreck in the world.
