Embark on the quintessential Maldives experience with the 4 Atolls route, tailored perfectly for first-time visitors. This comprehensive itinerary encapsulates the full spectrum of diversity within the archipelago, from magnificent pelagics to the rich array of reef-dwelling species. What sets the 4 Atolls route apart is its versatility, making it an ideal choice year-round, as sightings of whale sharks and manta rays remain virtually guaranteed regardless of the prevailing monsoon. In the Maldives, two distinct monsoon seasons prevail: the dry season spanning from November to April, and the wet season from May to October. Yet, amidst this tropical climate, sunshine is assured throughout. Explore the enchanting Thilas, underwater mountains rising from depths of six meters to a maximum of thirty or forty, alongside the equally captivating Farus, protruding from the sea regardless of tide levels. Each of these formations offers an immersive dive experience amidst vibrant coral-adorned landscapes teeming with marine life. Among the highlights of the 4 Atolls route are the renowned Kandus, channels in the Maldivian dialect. Widely regarded as the pinnacle dive of the journey, Kandus occurs between two islands where ocean currents funnel into the atolls, attracting an array of pelagic giants. Prepare for intimate encounters with gray sharks, white tips, carangids, and eagle rays, offering unforgettable moments beneath the waves. The 4 Atolls route is the ideal route for the first time visiting the Maldives. It is the most complete because it brings together all the diversity that we can find in this archipelago, from the large pelagics to the most varied species that are concentrated in the reefs. In addition, the 4 atolls route is the perfect route to take at any time of the year, because regardless of the monsoon, the sight of whale sharks and manta rays is almost certain. In Maldives, there are two monsoons, the dry one, which runs from November to April, and the wet one, between May and October. In any case, it is a tropical climate and the sun is guaranteed in both. The Thilas are great mountains under the sea that we find six meters deep and a maximum of thirty or forty. The foreigners are the same type of formations, but they are closer to the surface, reaching only three meters. And the Farus, which stands out from the sea regardless of the tide. The common feature of all of them is that we can enjoy coral-upholstered backgrounds full of life. Another type of dive that we enjoy during life on board the 4 atolls route is the famous Kandus, channel in the Maldivian language. For many, it is the star dive of the cruise. It takes place in the space between two islands, where the ocean currents sneak into the atoll, allowing the entry of large pelagics. In them, you can enjoy up close the vision of gray sharks, white tips, carangids, and eagle rays.
